Description
xVoltacon VMI600 600W Grid-Tied Solar Microinverter – Single MPPT, G98 Compliant
The Voltacon VMI600 is a 600W single phase grid-tied solar microinverter with integrated Wi-Fi monitoring. Designed for single panel installations, it delivers individual maximum power point tracking at module level, improving energy yield in systems affected by partial shading or mixed orientations. G98 compliant and ENA registered (ZHEJI/15702/V1/A1), it is suitable for UK residential and commercial grid-connected solar installations.
Key Features
- 600W rated output, 620VA peak
- Single MPPT per inverter for module-level power optimisation
- MPPT voltage range: 24–50V, operating range: 16–60V
- Max input current: 18A, max short circuit current: 20A
- Compatible with panels 400–670W (60–75 full cells or 120–150 half cells)
- Peak efficiency: 96.5%, European efficiency: 96%
- Power factor: greater than 0.99, THD: less than 3%
- IP67 weatherproof enclosure
- Integrated Wi-Fi: no additional monitoring hub required
- Up to 8 units connectable per string
- G98 compliant, ENA registered: ZHEJI/15702/V1/A1
- 10-year standard warranty; 25-year optional extended warranty available
Product Overview
Unlike string inverters, which track the power output of an entire array collectively, the VMI600 tracks each panel individually. Shading, soiling, or degradation on one panel does not reduce the output of the entire string, improving overall system yield in real-world conditions.
The integrated Wi-Fi allows each inverter to be monitored independently without a separate data gateway or hub. The VMI600 uses GaN MOSFET technology with no electrolytic capacitors or cooling fans, reducing wear components and supporting a long service life. High-frequency transformer design provides electrical isolation between the PV input and the AC output.
Applications
- Residential rooftop solar with partial shading or multiple orientations
- Building-integrated PV on walls or irregular surfaces
- Commercial installations requiring module-level monitoring
Installation and Safety Notes
This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited solar installer. G98 notification to the DNO is required before connection. This inverter requires a live grid connection to operate and will not function off-grid or in parallel with off-grid inverters.
