Description
xVoltacon BYM2000 2000W Solar Micro Inverter – Quattro MPPT WiFi 230V IP67
The Voltacon BYM2000 is a 2000W micro inverter with four independent MPPT trackers, designed for grid-connected solar systems. One unit handles up to four solar panels, with each panel managed by its own MPPT channel. Output is 230V AC, and the IP67-rated enclosure makes it suitable for outdoor installation directly behind or near the panels.
Ideal for home installations, on balconies, patios and gardens. From August 26th 2026, households are free to use plug in balcony solar panels with micro inverters.
Key Features
- 2000VA rated output at 230V AC
- 4 independent MPPT trackers, one per panel
- Handles up to 4 solar panels per unit
- IP67 waterproof and dustproof enclosure
- PLCC communication, WiFi available as an option
- AC-coupled design: no high-voltage DC runs through the building
- Module-level monitoring for each panel
- 25-year warranty
Product Overview
Unlike a string inverter where all panels share one or two MPPT channels, the BYM2000 gives each panel its own tracker. If one panel is shaded, dirty or underperforming, it does not drag down the others. This is particularly useful on roofs with mixed orientations, partial shading from chimneys or neighbouring buildings, or where panels are installed across more than one roof pitch.
The AC-coupled output means DC wiring stays short and confined to the roof or mounting area. Only 230V AC cabling runs from the inverter back to the consumer unit, which simplifies the installation and removes the need to route high-voltage DC through the building fabric.
Communication is via PLCC as standard. Optional WiFi gives access to module-level performance data through a monitoring app, allowing the output of each individual panel to be checked remotely.
Applications
- Residential rooftop solar systems with mixed orientations or partial shading
- Garden rooms, garages, outbuildings and small commercial premises
- Balcony and small-array solar installations
- Systems where module-level monitoring is required
- Installations where minimising DC cable runs is a priority
What Is Included
- 1 x Voltacon BYM2000 micro inverter unit
Installation Notes
Install in accordance with current wiring regulations and the BYM2000 installation manual. Grid connection requires compliance with G98 (UK). The unit must be installed by a qualified MCS-accredited installer. Ensure the mounting location provides adequate airflow around the enclosure despite the IP67 rating.
