Description
xVictron Temperature Sensor Type C (ASS000020000)
The Victron Temperature Sensor Type C is a dedicated accessory for Victron GX devices, enabling accurate battery or ambient temperature monitoring within a Victron solar monitoring system. It connects directly to a GX device and feeds real-time temperature data into VRM and the local display, giving installers and operators the information needed to protect battery health and optimise charging.
Key Features
- Compatible with Victron GX devices including the Cerbo GX, Color Control GX and Venus GX.
- Provides real-time temperature readings visible on the GX display and via the VRM online portal.
- Lightweight at 97 g, making it straightforward to route and position in confined enclosures.
- SKU ASS000020000 with GTIN 8719076048039 for accurate ordering and stock management.
- Designed for use in battery monitoring applications where temperature compensation or thermal protection is required.
Product Overview
GX devices from Victron Energy include dedicated temperature sensor inputs. The Type C sensor uses this input to deliver continuous temperature data to the system, which can be used to trigger alerts, adjust charge parameters or simply log conditions over time through VRM. This is particularly relevant in battery installations where operating temperature directly affects charge acceptance and cycle life.
The sensor is a straightforward addition to any Victron-based system already running a GX device. No additional hardware or interfaces are required beyond the GX unit itself. Temperature data is logged automatically alongside other system metrics, keeping all monitoring consolidated in one place.

Installation Notes
The sensor connects to the temperature input on a compatible Victron GX device. Ensure the GX device firmware is up to date to guarantee full sensor recognition and data logging. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or solar installer familiar with Victron GX systems. Position the sensor to accurately reflect the temperature of the component being monitored, avoiding direct heat sources that could skew readings.
