Description
xVictron Solar Cable 1m 6mm² with MC4 Male/Female Connectors (PV-ST01)
A pre-assembled 1 metre solar cable from Victron Energy, fitted with MC4-compatible male and female connectors (PV-ST01 type). Designed for connecting solar panels in residential, commercial and off-grid PV installations where a short, ready-to-use extension or bridging cable is needed.
Key Features
- 1 metre length, suitable for short panel-to-panel or panel-to-combiner connections.
- 6mm² cross-section conductor, rated for the current demands of standard residential and commercial PV strings.
- Pre-fitted MC4-compatible male and female connectors (PV-ST01), ready to connect without additional tooling.
- Single cable with one male and one female end, allowing direct in-line extension of existing PV wiring.
- Supplied by Victron Energy, manufactured to the quality standards expected in professional solar installations.
- Lightweight at 0.144kg, easy to handle and route in tight spaces.
Product Overview
This cable uses a 6mm² conductor, which is the standard cross-section for most residential and light commercial PV string wiring in the UK and EU. A larger conductor reduces resistive losses over the cable run and is particularly relevant where panels are wired in series strings with higher open-circuit voltages. At 1 metre, this cable is best suited to bridging short gaps between panels, connecting to junction boxes, or extending existing wiring by a small amount without introducing unnecessary resistance.
The PV-ST01 MC4-compatible connectors are a widely used standard in the solar industry. The male and female ends allow this cable to be inserted directly into an existing PV circuit without any additional connectors or crimping. For installations requiring longer runs or different conductor sizes, Victron offers additional solar cable options to suit.

Installation Notes
MC4 connectors should only be mated and de-mated using the correct MC4 disconnect tool to avoid damage to the connector housing. PV string wiring operates at potentially high DC voltages. All solar PV installation and wiring work should be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer in accordance with BS 7671 and relevant IET wiring regulations. Do not connect or disconnect MC4 connectors under load.
