Description
xVictron Solar Cable 10m / 6mm² with MC4 Male and Female Connectors (PV-ST01)
This is a pre-assembled 10-metre solar DC cable from Victron Energy, supplied with MC4-compatible male and female connectors (PV-ST01 type) fitted at each end. It is designed for connecting solar panels to combiner boxes, charge controllers or inverter inputs in both off-grid and grid-tied PV installations.
Key Features
- 10-metre length with 6mm² cross-section, suitable for runs requiring low voltage drop on higher-current PV strings.
- Pre-fitted MC4-compatible male and female connectors (PV-ST01) at each end, ready to connect without additional crimping tools.
- 6mm² conductor cross-section supports higher current capacity compared to standard 4mm² PV cable, reducing resistive losses over longer runs.
- Designed for outdoor UV exposure in solar PV applications, with insulation rated for direct sunlight and weathering.
- Single-cable assembly covers both positive and negative connections when used as a pair, or extends an existing string in one polarity.
- SKU SCA001000100, GTIN 8719076025184, weight approximately 1.5kg.
Product Overview
The 6mm² conductor cross-section is a practical choice where panel strings produce higher short-circuit currents, or where cable runs are long enough that a 4mm² cable would introduce meaningful voltage drop. For a typical 10-metre run at currents above 10A, the larger conductor keeps losses within acceptable limits without requiring parallel cabling.
The PV-ST01 MC4-compatible connectors are a widely used standard across the solar industry. They mate directly with the connectors found on most crystalline and thin-film panels, as well as with MC4 inputs on Victron SmartSolar and BlueSolar MPPT charge controllers. The pre-assembled format means no field crimping is required, which reduces the risk of connection faults that can cause arc events or premature connector failure.
This cable is supplied as a single assembly with one male and one female connector. Depending on the wiring configuration, you may need one cable per polarity or multiple cables to extend a string. Check your system's current rating and voltage drop requirements before selecting cable length and cross-section.

Installation Notes
DC solar cables carry voltage whenever the panels are exposed to light. There is no way to isolate a PV string without a dedicated DC isolator switch. All connections should be made by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. Verify that the cable's current rating is appropriate for the short-circuit current of your panel string before installation. Do not mix connector brands within the same string, as mismatched MC4-type connectors can cause arcing and void warranties. For grid-connected systems in the UK, ensure the full installation meets G98 or G99 requirements as applicable.
