Description
xVictron Skylla-TG 48/25 (1+1) 230V High Power Battery Charger
The Victron Skylla-TG 48/25 is a high power, single-output 48V battery charger rated at 25A, designed for professional and industrial applications where reliable, high-current charging is required. It is suited to off-grid systems, marine installations, and large battery banks where a compact, robust charger is needed.
Key Features
- 48V output at 25A continuous charge current for large battery banks.
- Single-phase 230V AC input with wide input voltage tolerance.
- Adaptive 4-stage charge algorithm: bulk, absorption, float, and storage.
- Temperature-compensated charging via optional sensor to protect battery life.
- Compact, wall-mountable enclosure weighing 5.5 kg.
- Compatible with Victron VE.Bus and system monitoring via optional interfaces.
- Suitable for lead-acid battery chemistries including AGM, gel, and flooded.
Product Overview
The Skylla-TG range is Victron's high power transformer-based charger series. Unlike switch-mode chargers, the transformer-based design provides galvanic isolation and high tolerance to poor or unstable AC input quality, making it well suited to generator-fed systems, marine shore power, and industrial environments where mains quality cannot be guaranteed.
The 48/25 model delivers 25A at 48V, providing up to 1,200W of charge power. The adaptive charge algorithm adjusts absorption time based on the previous discharge, which reduces unnecessary gassing and extends battery service life. The storage mode drops the voltage to a low maintenance level when the battery remains connected for extended periods without cycling.
The unit accepts a single-phase 230V AC supply and is designed for permanent installation. It can be integrated into larger Victron systems using optional monitoring accessories, and the (1+1) designation indicates the unit supports a parallel output configuration for increased charge current when two units are used together.
