Description
xVictron Skylla-i 24/80(3) 230V Battery Charger
The Victron Skylla-i 24/80(3) is a three-output, 24V 80A mains-powered battery charger designed for professional and commercial applications. It is built for demanding environments where reliable, high-current charging is required across multiple battery banks simultaneously. Typical users include marine, vehicle, industrial and off-grid installations where a single charger must serve several independent battery systems.
Key Features
- 80A total output at 24V across three independently controlled output channels, allowing simultaneous charging of separate battery banks.
- Adaptive charging algorithm with automatic battery detection adjusts the charge profile to suit the connected battery type and condition.
- Single-phase 230V AC input makes it compatible with standard shore power, generator supply or mains connections.
- Built-in VE.Bus communication port enables integration with Victron system monitoring, remote control panels and GX devices.
- Temperature-compensated charging via an optional sensor input ensures accurate charge voltage across varying ambient conditions.
- Configurable charge algorithms via VictronConnect or a remote panel, supporting flooded, gel, AGM and lithium battery chemistries.
- Compact, wall-mountable enclosure with a weight of 8kg, suitable for permanent installation in engine rooms, battery compartments and plant rooms.
Product Overview
The Skylla-i 24/80(3) delivers 80A of charge current at 24V from a 230V AC supply, split across three output channels. Each output can be configured independently, which is particularly useful in applications where a starter battery, a service bank and an auxiliary system need to be maintained from a single charger. The three-output configuration avoids the need for separate chargers and the associated wiring complexity.
VE.Bus connectivity sets the Skylla-i apart from basic chargers. It allows the unit to communicate directly with Victron GX devices, Color Control panels and system monitors, giving installers full visibility of charge state, battery voltage and current from a central point. This is especially relevant in professional marine and vehicle installations where system oversight is a requirement rather than an option.
The adaptive charging algorithm monitors battery behaviour during each charge cycle and adjusts the absorption time accordingly. This means a deeply discharged battery receives a full, extended absorption phase, while a battery that is already well maintained will complete the cycle more quickly. Over time this approach reduces stress on the battery and extends service life without requiring manual intervention.

- Commercial vehicles and coaches where multiple 24V battery systems need to be maintained during layover periods.
- Off-grid cabins and plant rooms with a 230V generator supply and multiple battery banks.
- Industrial UPS and backup power systems requiring a high-current, monitored 24V charger with remote oversight capability.
- Victron-based energy systems where VE.Bus integration with a GX device or Color Control panel is required.
What Is Included
- Victron Skylla-i 24/80(3) 230V battery charger (1 unit)
Installation Notes
The Skylla-i 24/80(3) must be installed by a qualified electrician. The unit connects to a 230V single-phase AC supply and delivers up to 80A DC output, requiring correctly rated DC cabling, fusing and battery connections for each output channel. Battery chemistry and charge parameters should be configured before commissioning using VictronConnect or a compatible Victron remote panel. If installed aboard a vessel, wiring must comply with applicable marine electrical standards. Temperature sensor installation is recommended in environments subject to significant thermal variation.
