Description
xPhoenix Inverter 48/800 230V VE.Direct SCHUKO
The Victron Phoenix Inverter 48/800 is a pure sine wave inverter designed for 48V DC battery systems, delivering 800VA of continuous AC output at 230V. It is aimed at off-grid installations, mobile applications and backup power setups where a clean, stable AC supply is required from a battery bank. The SCHUKO output socket makes it ready for direct use with standard European plugs without additional wiring.
Key Features
- Pure sine wave output ensures compatibility with sensitive electronics, motors and appliances.
- 48V DC input with 800VA continuous output at 230V AC.
- VE.Direct communication port allows monitoring and configuration via Victron's GX devices, MPPT Solar Chargers and the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (with optional dongle).
- SCHUKO output socket fitted as standard, suitable for direct connection of European-standard plugged loads.
- PowerControl and PowerAssist functions allow the inverter to supplement an AC source rather than replace it, preventing overload of a limited supply.
- Integrated battery protection with configurable low voltage shutdown to prevent deep discharge damage.
- Compact and lightweight design at 5.8 kg, suitable for installation in confined spaces.
Product Overview
The Phoenix 48/800 operates from a 48V battery bank and produces a pure sine wave output, which is the correct waveform for running inductive loads such as motors, compressors and any equipment with a switched-mode power supply. Modified sine wave inverters can cause problems with these load types; the Phoenix avoids that entirely.
VE.Direct connectivity is a key practical feature for professional installations. It allows the inverter to communicate with Victron GX devices (such as the Cerbo GX) for system-level monitoring, data logging and remote management via the VRM portal. It also enables direct configuration and live monitoring through the VictronConnect app when used with a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle. This makes the Phoenix 48/800 a straightforward fit into a wider Victron system architecture.
The SCHUKO socket output means the unit can be deployed quickly in applications where a single plugged load needs to be powered from a 48V battery, without requiring a hardwired AC distribution board. For installations requiring hardwired output, the terminal block connection option is available on other variants in the Phoenix range.

What Is Included
- Victron Phoenix Inverter 48/800 230V VE.Direct SCHUKO unit
Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with DC battery systems and low-voltage AC wiring. The inverter must be connected to a 48V battery bank with appropriately rated DC cabling and fusing. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent thermal shutdown. This inverter is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. For integration into a wider Victron system, a VE.Direct cable or VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is required separately.
