Description
xVictron Inverter 12/250 230V VE.Direct SCHUKO
The Victron Inverter 12/250 is a compact 12V DC to 230V AC pure sine wave inverter with a 250VA continuous output rating. It is aimed at installers and professionals needing a reliable, low-power inverter for mobile, marine, off-grid and backup applications. The SCHUKO output socket and VE.Direct communication port make it straightforward to integrate into monitored systems.
Key Features
- 250VA continuous output from a 12V DC battery bank, converting to 230V AC pure sine wave output suitable for sensitive electronics.
- VE.Direct communication port allows direct connection to Victron monitoring devices, including the Color Control GX and compatible displays.
- SCHUKO output socket provides a standard European AC outlet, ready for direct use without additional adapters in most EU and UK (with adapter) installations.
- Compact and lightweight design at 2.6 kg, suited to space-constrained installations in vehicles, boats and small off-grid cabinets.
- Built-in protections include low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature protection and overload protection to safeguard both the inverter and connected loads.
- Part of the Victron VE.Direct inverter range, compatible with the VictronConnect app via a VE.Direct to USB or Bluetooth dongle for configuration and monitoring.
Product Overview
The 12/250 sits at the entry point of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. At 250VA, it is not intended for high-draw appliances, but it covers a practical range of low-power loads: laptops, LED lighting circuits, small power tools, phone chargers and similar equipment. The pure sine wave output means it is compatible with equipment that would otherwise be damaged or perform poorly on a modified sine wave supply.
The VE.Direct port is the key differentiator from basic inverters at this price point. It allows the unit to report status, alarms and operational data to a Victron GX device or directly to a laptop or phone via the appropriate interface cable or dongle. This makes it a viable component in a monitored off-grid or vehicle system rather than a standalone black box. Configuration via VictronConnect covers parameters such as low battery alarm and shutdown thresholds.
The SCHUKO socket format is standard across continental Europe. UK installers should note that a SCHUKO-to-UK adapter is required for direct use with UK plugs. For permanent wiring into a distribution board or consumer unit, a qualified electrician should carry out the AC-side connection.

Applications
- Campervans and motorhomes requiring a 230V AC supply from a 12V leisure battery for laptops, lighting or small appliances.
- Marine installations where a compact, monitored inverter is needed for low-power AC loads on a 12V system.
- Small off-grid cabins or sheds with a 12V battery bank needing occasional 230V AC output.
- Emergency backup power for communications equipment, routers or medical devices with low power draw.
- Integration into a Victron-monitored system where VE.Direct data reporting is required from the inverter.
What Is Included
- Victron Inverter 12/250 230V VE.Direct SCHUKO unit
Installation Notes
DC connections must be made with appropriately rated cable and fusing for a 12V system at the current levels this inverter can draw. The AC output is live when the inverter is operating, so all AC wiring must be handled by a qualified electrician. This inverter is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification. For vehicle or marine installations, ensure the DC supply is fused as close to the battery as practicable. VE.Direct accessories such as interface cables or Bluetooth dongles are sold separately.
