Description
xVictron Orion 110/12-30A (360W) Isolated DC-DC Converter
The Victron Orion 110/12-30A is a galvanically isolated DC-DC converter that steps down a 110V DC input to a regulated 12V DC output at up to 30A (360W). It is designed for professional installations where electrical isolation between input and output circuits is required, such as vehicle, marine, and off-grid applications.
Key Features
- Galvanic isolation between input and output, eliminating ground loop issues and protecting sensitive equipment.
- 110V DC nominal input with a regulated 12V DC output at 30A continuous current.
- 360W continuous output power in a compact, enclosed housing.
- Wide input voltage range suitable for varying DC bus voltages found in industrial and vehicle systems.
- High conversion efficiency, reducing heat generation and minimising energy losses in the system.
- Fully enclosed design with no moving parts, suited to demanding installation environments.
- Weight of 1.43kg, making it practical for space-constrained installations.
Product Overview
Galvanic isolation is a fundamental requirement in many DC systems. Without it, differences in ground potential between two circuits can cause current to flow through unintended paths, damaging equipment or creating safety hazards. The Orion 110/12-30A uses transformer-based isolation to keep the input and output circuits electrically separate, which is particularly important when connecting 12V loads or charging systems to a higher-voltage DC bus.
The 110V input nominal makes this converter appropriate for systems running at elevated DC voltages, such as certain industrial vehicles, traction systems, or custom off-grid DC architectures. The 12V output at 30A provides enough current capacity to power or charge a range of 12V loads, from lighting and control systems to battery banks. At 360W continuous, it handles meaningful loads without requiring oversizing.
Victron's Orion range is well established in professional marine, vehicle and off-grid installations. This isolated variant is the correct choice wherever the input and output circuits must not share a common ground, or where regulations or system design require full electrical separation between voltage domains.

What Is Included
- 1x Victron Orion 110/12-30A (360W) Isolated DC-DC Converter
Installation Notes
This converter operates at 110V DC on the input side, which constitutes a hazardous voltage level. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or suitably competent person familiar with DC power systems at this voltage. Ensure correct fusing and cable sizing on both the input and output circuits in accordance with applicable wiring regulations. The galvanic isolation means input and output grounds are not connected internally; verify that your system design accounts for this before commissioning.
