Description
xVictron MultiPlus Compact 24/2000/50-30 230V VE.Bus Inverter Charger
The Victron MultiPlus Compact 24/2000/50-30 is a combined inverter and battery charger in a single unit, designed for 24V battery systems with a 2000VA inverter output and 50A charging capability. It is suited to off-grid installations, marine and vehicle applications, and backup power systems where space and weight are considerations.
Key Features
- 2000VA continuous inverter output with 230V AC output, suitable for standard UK and EU loads.
- 50A multi-stage battery charger with adaptive charge algorithm, compatible with lead-acid and lithium battery banks.
- 30A AC transfer switch allows connection to shore power or a generator, with near-instant switchover to inverter mode on loss of AC input.
- PowerControl and PowerAssist functions limit AC input current draw and supplement mains or generator power with battery power when demand exceeds the input limit.
- VE.Bus communication port enables system integration with other Victron devices, remote monitoring via GX devices, and parallel or three-phase configuration.
- Compact form factor at 14.3 kg, making it practical for installations where a full-size MultiPlus is not feasible.
- Programmable relay and configurable settings via VEConfigure software for tailored system behaviour.
Product Overview
The MultiPlus Compact combines a true sine wave inverter with a professional-grade battery charger. The inverter produces a clean 230V AC sine wave output, making it compatible with sensitive electronics and motor loads. The charger side uses an adaptive four-stage algorithm (bulk, absorption, float, storage) that adjusts to battery condition over time, which reduces overcharging and extends battery service life.
PowerAssist is a practical feature for installations with a limited AC supply, such as a small generator or a shore power connection with a low current limit. When loads exceed the available AC input, the unit draws the shortfall from the battery bank rather than tripping the supply. This allows a smaller, more economical generator to be used without load-shedding. The 30A transfer switch provides a clean handover between external AC and inverter output, with a transfer time fast enough for most computers and sensitive equipment.
VE.Bus connectivity means the unit can be monitored and configured remotely when paired with a Victron GX device such as a Cerbo GX. Multiple units can be paralleled for increased capacity or configured for split-phase or three-phase output, provided the installation is designed and commissioned by a qualified engineer.

What Is Included
- Victron MultiPlus Compact 24/2000/50-30 230V VE.Bus inverter charger unit.
Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with DC battery systems and AC wiring regulations. The unit must be connected to a correctly rated 24V battery bank with appropriately sized DC cabling and fusing. For any grid-connected or generator-connected application, ensure compliance with local wiring regulations and, where applicable, G98 or G99 requirements. Configuration via VEConfigure software is recommended to set charge parameters, input current limits and system behaviour to match the specific installation.
