Description
xVictron MultiPlus 48/2000/25-32 230V VE.Bus Inverter Charger
The Victron MultiPlus 48/2000/25-32 is a combined inverter and battery charger in a single unit, designed for 48V battery systems operating at 230V AC. It is suited to off-grid installations, backup power systems and marine or vehicle applications where reliable AC output and efficient battery charging are required in one compact unit.
Key Features
- 2000VA continuous inverter output at 230V AC from a 48V DC battery bank.
- 25A battery charger built in, with adaptive charge algorithm to suit different battery chemistries.
- 32A AC transfer switch for seamless switching between shore/generator power and inverter output.
- VE.Bus communication interface for system integration, parallel operation and three-phase configuration.
- PowerControl function limits AC input current draw to protect generators or shore power connections from overload.
- PowerAssist function supplements AC input with inverter power during peak demand, allowing a smaller generator or shore supply to be used.
- Compatible with Victron GX devices and VEConfigure software for remote monitoring and configuration.
Product Overview
The MultiPlus 48/2000/25-32 combines a pure sine wave inverter with a multi-stage battery charger. The inverter produces a clean 230V AC sine wave output, making it suitable for sensitive electronics and standard AC loads. The 25A charger uses Victron's adaptive charging algorithm, which adjusts the charge profile based on battery behaviour, extending battery life over time. The 32A transfer switch connects the AC output to an external AC source (mains or generator) when available, and switches to inverter operation when that source is lost or disconnected.
VE.Bus is Victron's proprietary communication bus that allows multiple MultiPlus units to be connected in parallel for increased capacity, or configured in split-phase or three-phase arrangements. This makes the unit scalable beyond its standalone 2000VA rating. VE.Bus also enables integration with Victron GX monitoring devices such as the Cerbo GX, providing full system visibility and remote control via the VRM portal.
PowerControl and PowerAssist are particularly useful where the available AC input is limited. PowerControl caps the current drawn from the AC input to a user-defined limit. PowerAssist goes further by using the battery bank to supplement the AC input during load peaks, allowing the system to support loads that would otherwise exceed the input supply capacity.

Installation Notes
The MultiPlus 48/2000/25-32 must be installed by a qualified electrician familiar with battery-based inverter systems. Connections to 48V battery banks, AC distribution boards and any generator or mains supply must comply with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). For grid-connected or export applications, G98 or G99 compliance and DNO notification requirements must be assessed by a qualified installer. VEConfigure software is required for advanced configuration and should be carried out by a competent person. Do not attempt installation without appropriate electrical qualifications.
