Description
xVictron MultiPlus 24/500/10-16 230V VE.Bus Inverter Charger
The Victron MultiPlus 24/500/10-16 is a combined inverter and battery charger in a single compact unit, designed for 24V DC systems with 230V AC output. It is suited to off-grid installations, marine and vehicle applications, and small backup power systems where space and weight are at a premium.
Key Features
- 500VA continuous inverter output at 230V AC from a 24V DC battery bank.
- Integrated 10A battery charger with adaptive charge algorithm to extend battery life.
- 16A AC transfer switch allows connection to shore power or a generator, with automatic switchover.
- VE.Bus communication interface enables system integration, remote monitoring and configuration via Victron GX devices.
- PowerAssist function supplements shore or generator power to prevent overload on limited AC sources.
- Supports parallel and three-phase operation when multiple units are used together.
- Compact and lightweight at 5.5 kg, suitable for installation in confined spaces.
Product Overview
The MultiPlus 24/500/10-16 combines inverter, charger and transfer switch functions into one unit. When an AC source such as shore power or a generator is available, the unit passes power through to connected loads and simultaneously charges the battery bank at up to 10A. When the AC source is removed or fails, the transfer switch operates in under 20 milliseconds, switching loads to inverter power without interruption to most equipment.
The PowerAssist feature is particularly useful where the available AC supply is limited, for example on a boat with a restricted shore power connection or a small generator. The MultiPlus draws additional current from the battery to supplement the AC source, preventing nuisance tripping of breakers or overloading of the supply. This allows smaller, more economical generators to be used alongside the battery bank.
VE.Bus connectivity means this unit can be configured and monitored using Victron's GX range of system controllers, including the Cerbo GX, and integrated into a wider Victron system. Multiple MultiPlus units can be connected in parallel for increased capacity, or configured for split-phase or three-phase operation.

Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with DC battery systems and 230V AC wiring. The unit must be connected to a correctly fused 24V battery bank with appropriate cable sizing for the DC current involved. For any grid-connected or shore-power applications, all AC wiring must comply with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). VE.Bus configuration requires Victron's MK3-USB interface or a compatible GX device. Do not install in locations subject to water ingress without verifying the unit's IP rating is appropriate for the environment.
