Description
xVictron MultiPlus 12/2000/100-32 230V VE.Bus Inverter Charger
The Victron MultiPlus 12/2000/100-32 is a combined inverter and battery charger in a single unit, designed for 12V battery systems with a 230V AC output. It is suited to off-grid installations, marine and vehicle applications, and backup power systems where reliable AC output and efficient battery charging are required from a compact, integrated unit.
Key Features
- 2000VA continuous inverter output at 230V AC from a 12V DC battery bank.
- 100A battery charger built in, with adaptive charging algorithm to extend battery life.
- 32A AC transfer switch allows connection to shore power or a generator, with near-instant switchover.
- PowerAssist function supplements shore or generator power with battery power when AC demand exceeds the available input.
- VE.Bus communication interface enables system integration, parallel operation and three-phase configuration with additional units.
- Multiple units can be operated in parallel for increased capacity, or configured for split-phase or three-phase output.
- Compatible with Victron GX devices and the VictronConnect and VEConfigure software tools for monitoring and configuration.
Product Overview
The MultiPlus combines a sine wave inverter, a multi-stage battery charger and an AC transfer switch into one unit. When AC input is available (shore power or generator), the charger runs and the transfer switch connects the load directly to the AC source. When AC input is lost or disconnected, the inverter takes over within milliseconds, maintaining supply to connected loads without interruption.
The 100A charger uses an adaptive charge algorithm that adjusts the charge curve based on battery behaviour, which is particularly useful in systems where charge time and battery condition vary. The PowerAssist feature is relevant where the available AC input is limited: if connected loads exceed the shore or generator supply, the MultiPlus draws the shortfall from the battery rather than overloading the source. This allows a smaller generator or a limited shore supply to run loads that would otherwise trip the breaker.
VE.Bus connectivity is the key to scalability. Multiple MultiPlus units can be connected together to increase inverter capacity or to create three-phase systems, all managed as a single installation. Integration with Victron GX devices (such as the Cerbo GX) provides full system monitoring, data logging and remote access via the VRM portal.

Installation Notes
The MultiPlus must be installed by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. DC connections at 12V with high current capacity require correctly rated cabling and fusing. For any grid-connected or shore-power-connected installation in the UK, compliance with current wiring regulations (BS 7671) is required. Off-grid installations should be designed and commissioned by a competent person familiar with battery-based inverter systems. VEConfigure software is required for advanced configuration and should be used by installers with appropriate Victron training.
