Description
xVictron Multi RS 48/6000/100-50 230V Inverter Charger
The Victron Multi RS 48/6000/100-50 is a 6000VA inverter charger designed for 48V battery systems operating at 230V AC. It combines a high-frequency inverter, a 100A battery charger, and a 50A solar charge controller (MPPT) in a single unit, making it suited to off-grid installations, hybrid solar systems, and backup power applications where space and wiring complexity need to be minimised.
Key Features
- 6000VA continuous inverter output at 230V AC from a 48V DC battery bank.
- Integrated 100A multi-stage battery charger with adaptive charge algorithm.
- Built-in 50A MPPT solar charge controller for direct PV array connection.
- High-frequency design reduces unit weight to 12.5kg compared to transformer-based equivalents.
- Compatible with Victron VE.Bus for system integration, monitoring and remote configuration via GX devices.
- Supports PowerAssist, allowing the unit to supplement grid or generator input when demand exceeds the AC source capacity.
- Configurable via VictronConnect app over Bluetooth or VE.Bus interface.
Product Overview
The Multi RS combines three functions that would otherwise require separate hardware: an inverter, a battery charger, and an MPPT solar charge controller. This integration reduces installation complexity, cabinet space, and the number of DC cable runs between components. The 48V nominal battery voltage is well suited to larger off-grid and hybrid systems where higher voltage reduces current and associated cable losses.
The 100A charger output is substantial for a unit of this size, allowing a reasonably large battery bank to be recharged efficiently from a generator or grid supply. The 50A MPPT input handles PV arrays directly, with the charge controller managing the solar harvest and feeding it into the battery bank alongside or independently of the AC charger. This makes the Multi RS a practical choice for sites where both grid or generator backup and solar generation are present.
VE.Bus compatibility means the unit integrates fully into a Victron system alongside GX monitoring devices, Venus OS, and the VRM online portal. System behaviour, charge profiles, and transfer thresholds can all be configured remotely once commissioned. The high-frequency architecture keeps the unit at 12.5kg, which is a practical advantage for wall-mounted installations where a transformer-based unit of equivalent output would be considerably heavier.

What Is Included
- Victron Multi RS 48/6000/100-50 230V inverter charger unit.
Installation Notes
The Multi RS 48/6000/100-50 should be installed by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. The unit operates at 48V DC with high current battery connections and connects to 230V AC mains or generator supply. Any grid-connected installation in the UK must comply with G98 or G99 requirements as applicable. PV array wiring and battery cabling must be sized correctly for the current ratings of the integrated charger and MPPT inputs. Configuration via VE.Bus or VictronConnect should be completed before commissioning to ensure charge parameters match the connected battery chemistry.
