Description
xMPPT WireBox-XL Tr 150-85/100 & 250-85/100 VE.Can
The MPPT WireBox-XL Tr is a protective wiring enclosure designed for Victron SmartSolar and BlueSolar MPPT Tr (transformer-based) solar charge controllers in the 150-85, 150-100, 250-85 and 250-100 VE.Can range. It covers the DC wiring terminals, reducing the risk of accidental contact and helping installations meet enclosure and safety requirements.
Key Features
- Compatible with Victron MPPT Tr 150-85, 150-100, 250-85 and 250-100 VE.Can charge controllers.
- Covers all DC input and output wiring terminals on the charge controller.
- Designed specifically for the XL Tr form factor, ensuring a precise, secure fit.
- Reduces the risk of accidental contact with live DC terminals after installation.
- Lightweight at 0.23 kg, adding minimal bulk to the installation.
- Supports clean, professional cable management in panel rooms, battery rooms and enclosures.
Product Overview
Victron MPPT charge controllers in the Tr (transformer-based) 150 and 250 VE.Can series handle high DC currents at the battery terminals. Leaving those terminals exposed after installation creates a contact risk and can conflict with site safety requirements. The WireBox-XL Tr clips over the terminal area to provide a physical barrier once cables are dressed and connected.
The WireBox is model-specific. The XL Tr variant is sized for the larger footprint of the 85A and 100A Tr VE.Can controllers and will not fit the standard (non-Tr) MPPT housing. Installers working across multiple MPPT models should confirm the correct WireBox variant before ordering. The enclosure does not affect ventilation or thermal performance of the charge controller.

Installation Notes
The WireBox-XL Tr should be fitted after all DC cables have been connected and dressed at the charge controller terminals. Ensure the charge controller is isolated before making or adjusting any wiring connections. Installation of MPPT charge controllers and associated DC wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with high-current DC systems. For grid-connected solar PV systems in the UK, G98 or G99 compliance requirements apply to the wider system design.
