Description
xMEGA-Fuse 80A/80V (Pack of 5) — CIP138080020
The Victron Energy MEGA-fuse 80A/80V is a high-current blade-style fuse designed for DC protection in battery systems, inverters and other high-current 12V, 24V and 48V DC installations. Supplied in a pack of five, this fuse is the correct replacement or installation component for use with compatible MEGA fuseholders.
Key Features
- Rated at 80A continuous current with an 80V DC voltage rating, suitable for 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems.
- MEGA-style blade fuse format, compatible with standard MEGA fuseholders including Victron's own range.
- Provides overcurrent protection for DC wiring between batteries, inverters, charge controllers and distribution busbars.
- Compact, bolt-down design ensures a low-resistance, secure connection in high-current circuits.
- Supplied as a pack of 5, making them practical for installers carrying spares or commissioning multiple systems.
- Lightweight at 45g per pack, with minimal installation footprint.
Product Overview
MEGA fuses are a widely used format in automotive, marine and off-grid solar DC systems. The bolt-down terminal design gives a more secure and lower-resistance connection than standard blade fuses, making them appropriate for sustained high-current loads. At 80A, this fuse is commonly used on the main battery feed to smaller inverters, on individual battery outputs in parallel bank configurations, or on DC distribution circuits where branch protection is required.
The 80V DC rating means this fuse is suitable across the full range of common battery voltages used in off-grid and backup power systems, including 12V, 24V and 48V nominal systems. It is important to select a fuse rated for DC use specifically, as AC-rated fuses do not interrupt DC fault currents in the same way. These fuses are manufactured to work within Victron's MEGA fuseholder range, though they are compatible with any standard MEGA-format holder.

Installation Notes
MEGA fuses must be installed in a compatible MEGA fuseholder. Always size fusing according to the cable cross-section being protected, not solely the load rating. DC fusing must be rated for DC voltage; do not substitute AC-rated fuses in DC circuits. For inverter and battery system installations, a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer should carry out all high-current DC wiring. Ensure the system is fully isolated before replacing any fuse.
