Description
xMEGA-Fuse 500A/32V (Pack of 5) — CIP136500010
The Victron Energy MEGA-fuse 500A/32V is a high-current blade-style fuse rated for 32V DC systems. Sold in packs of five, it is designed for use in battery protection circuits, inverter installations and other high-current DC applications where reliable overcurrent protection is required.
Key Features
- 500A current rating suitable for high-current DC battery and inverter circuits.
- 32V DC voltage rating, compatible with 12V and 24V battery systems.
- MEGA-fuse format, designed to fit standard MEGA fuseholders including Victron's own range.
- Pack of 5 fuses, providing spares for commissioning, maintenance or multi-circuit installations.
- Compact, lightweight design at 0.05 kg per pack, easy to store and transport on site.
- Provides short-circuit and overcurrent protection for cables, inverters and battery banks.
Product Overview
MEGA-fuses are a widely used format in automotive, marine and solar DC installations. The 500A rating makes this fuse appropriate for large inverter installations, typically those in the 3000W to 5000W range on 12V systems, or higher-capacity 24V systems. The 32V maximum voltage rating covers both 12V and 24V nominal battery banks, including those with elevated charging voltages.
The fuse is installed between the battery positive terminal and the main DC load or inverter input, protecting the wiring and connected equipment in the event of a short circuit or sustained overload. Using the correct fuse rating for the cable cross-section and load is essential. A 500A fuse should be paired with appropriately rated cable, typically 95mm² or larger depending on run length and installation conditions.
Purchasing in a pack of five is practical for installers who work across multiple sites or who want to keep a spare on hand after commissioning. MEGA-fuses are consumable components and should be replaced after any fault event, never re-used.

Installation Notes
MEGA-fuses must be installed in a compatible MEGA fuseholder rated for the current and voltage in use. The fuse should be positioned as close to the battery positive terminal as practicable to maximise protection of the wiring. Ensure the cable rating matches or exceeds the fuse rating. For inverter and battery installations in solar PV systems, installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Do not exceed the 32V DC voltage rating of this fuse.
