Description
xMEGA-Fuse 125A/80V (Pack of 5) — CIP138125020
The Victron Energy MEGA-fuse 125A/80V is a high-current blade-style fuse designed for DC protection in battery systems, inverters, and solar installations. Sold in a pack of five, it is suited to professional installers who need reliable overcurrent protection across multiple circuits or installations.
Key Features
- Rated at 125A continuous current with an 80V DC voltage rating, suitable for 12V, 24V, and 48V battery systems.
- MEGA-fuse format provides a high-current, compact form factor widely used in automotive and marine DC applications.
- Designed to protect wiring and equipment from overcurrent faults in inverter, battery, and DC distribution circuits.
- Pack of 5 fuses, making it practical for trade and multi-installation use without the cost of individual purchasing.
- Lightweight at 45g per pack, with minimal installation footprint in any fuseholder or distribution block.
- Compatible with standard MEGA fuseholders, including Victron's own CIP range of fuseholders.
Product Overview
MEGA-fuses are a well-established format in DC electrical protection, commonly used between battery banks and inverters, in DC busbars, and across high-current distribution systems. The 125A rating makes this fuse appropriate for protecting cable runs and equipment on 12V, 24V, and 48V systems where sustained high currents are expected. The 80V DC voltage rating provides adequate headroom for 48V battery systems, including lithium battery banks that may reach higher charge voltages.
The fuse acts as the last line of protection against wiring faults and short circuits. Correct fuse selection is critical: the fuse should be rated to protect the cable, not the load. A 125A fuse is typically paired with cable capable of carrying that current continuously, and should be installed as close to the positive terminal of the battery as practically possible to minimise unprotected cable length.

Installation Notes
MEGA-fuses must be installed in a compatible MEGA fuseholder rated for the current and voltage of the application. The fuse should be positioned as close to the battery positive terminal as possible to protect the full length of the cable run. DC electrical work on battery systems, particularly those involving inverters or lithium battery banks, should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. Always verify that the cable cross-section is correctly matched to the fuse rating before installation.
