Description
xVictron Inverter 48/375 230V VE.Direct IEC
The Victron Inverter 48/375 is a compact DC to AC inverter designed for 48V battery systems, delivering 375VA of continuous 230V AC output. It is aimed at off-grid installers, marine and vehicle applications, and small standalone power systems where a lightweight, communicating inverter is needed without the complexity of a full inverter-charger.
Key Features
- 375VA continuous output at 230V AC from a 48V DC battery bank.
- VE.Direct communication port for monitoring and integration with Victron GX devices and VictronConnect app.
- IEC AC output connector for straightforward, standardised wiring.
- Pure sine wave output suitable for sensitive electronics and motor loads.
- Compact and lightweight design at 3.25 kg, suited to space-constrained installations.
- Protections include low battery voltage shutdown, overload and over-temperature cutoff.
Product Overview
The 48/375 sits at the lower end of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, making it a practical choice for small 48V off-grid loads such as lighting circuits, low-power appliances, or auxiliary outlets in a larger system. The pure sine wave output means it is compatible with a wide range of AC loads, including those with switch-mode power supplies or inductive components that would struggle with modified sine wave alternatives.
The VE.Direct port is a key differentiator at this power level. It allows the inverter to be monitored via the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (with a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle) or integrated into a Victron GX-based system for centralised monitoring and control. This makes it a viable component in a larger Victron ecosystem rather than a standalone, unmonitored unit.
The IEC output socket provides a standardised AC connection point. This is a single-outlet format, so installations requiring multiple AC outlets will need an appropriate distribution board downstream. The 48V input voltage is well suited to larger battery banks where lower DC current draw at a given power level reduces cable sizing requirements compared to 12V or 24V equivalents.

Installation Notes
This inverter operates from a 48V DC battery system and outputs 230V AC. DC wiring must be correctly sized and fused for the input current at the chosen battery voltage. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person familiar with DC and AC electrical systems. This unit is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification, but all AC wiring downstream of the IEC outlet must comply with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). If integrating into a larger Victron system with a GX device, ensure VE.Direct cable routing is planned before final installation.
