Description
xVictron Inverter 48/250 230V VE.Direct SCHUKO
The Victron Inverter 48/250 is a compact 250VA pure sine wave inverter designed for 48V DC battery systems, converting stored energy to 230V AC output via a SCHUKO socket. It is suited to off-grid installations, marine and vehicle applications, and small standalone power systems where a lightweight, low-power inverter is required.
Key Features
- 250VA continuous output at 230V AC from a 48V DC battery bank
- Pure sine wave output, compatible with sensitive electronics and motor loads
- VE.Direct communication port for monitoring and integration with Victron GX devices and VictronConnect
- SCHUKO output socket for direct connection of standard European plugs
- Compact and lightweight at 2.6 kg, suitable for space-constrained installations
- Low idle power consumption, reducing unnecessary battery drain in standby
- Built-in protections including over-temperature, overload and low battery voltage shutdown
Product Overview
The 48/250 operates on a 48V nominal battery input, which is the preferred voltage for larger off-grid and backup systems due to lower cable losses and reduced current draw compared to 12V or 24V equivalents. At 250VA, this inverter is intended for powering small loads such as lighting, low-power tools, charging equipment or consumer electronics rather than high-draw appliances.
The VE.Direct port allows the inverter to communicate with Victron's ecosystem, including the Color Control GX, Cerbo GX and the VictronConnect app via a VE.Direct to USB or Bluetooth dongle. This enables real-time monitoring of input voltage, output load, and alarm status without additional hardware beyond the communication cable. For installations where visibility of system performance matters, this connectivity is a practical advantage over non-communicating inverters in the same power class.
The SCHUKO socket output makes this unit straightforward to deploy in European and UK (with adaptor) contexts. The pure sine wave output ensures compatibility with a wide range of loads, including those with switch-mode power supplies that may be sensitive to modified sine wave sources.

Installation Notes
This inverter connects directly to a 48V DC battery bank. DC wiring must be correctly sized for the current draw and protected with an appropriately rated fuse or circuit breaker as close to the battery as practicable. Although this is a low-power unit, installation should be carried out by a competent person familiar with DC electrical systems. For any integration into a wider solar or off-grid system, a qualified installer is recommended. This inverter is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. The SCHUKO output is not a standard UK BS1363 socket; a suitable adaptor is required for UK plug types.
