Description
xVictron Inverter 24V 800VA 230V VE.Direct IEC
The Victron Inverter 24/800 230V VE.Direct IEC is a pure sine wave inverter designed for off-grid and mobile power applications. It converts 24V DC battery power to 230V AC at 800VA continuous output. Suited to professional installers fitting systems in vehicles, boats, cabins and small off-grid installations.
Key Features
- 800VA continuous output with pure sine wave AC, suitable for sensitive electronics and motor loads.
- 24V DC input with a wide input voltage range to accommodate varying battery states.
- VE.Direct communication port for monitoring and integration with Victron GX devices and VictronConnect app.
- IEC AC output connector for straightforward, standardised wiring.
- Compact and lightweight design at 5.8 kg, practical for space-constrained installations.
- Built-in protections covering low battery voltage shutdown, overload and over-temperature.
Product Overview
The 24/800 sits in Victron's VE.Direct inverter range, which uses a digital communication interface rather than a simple LED indicator. This allows real-time monitoring via VictronConnect over Bluetooth (with an optional dongle) or direct connection to a Victron GX device such as a Cerbo GX. For installers building monitored off-grid systems, this connectivity is a practical advantage over basic inverters with no data output.
The pure sine wave output means it is compatible with the full range of AC loads, including inductive loads such as motors and compressors, as well as sensitive electronics that would be damaged or disrupted by modified sine wave power. At 800VA, this unit is appropriate for lighting circuits, small appliances, and low-power tools rather than high-draw equipment.
The IEC output format provides a standardised AC connection point. This is relevant for professional installations where wiring must meet UK and EU electrical standards. The 24V input voltage is common in larger off-grid battery banks and commercial vehicle systems where 12V would require impractically heavy cabling at this power level.

What Is Included
- Victron Inverter 24/800 230V VE.Direct IEC unit
Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. The DC input must be connected to a correctly fused 24V battery bank using appropriately rated cabling. The IEC AC output is intended for connection to a fixed wiring circuit or a suitable load; do not overload beyond the 800VA rating. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent thermal shutdown. VE.Direct accessories such as a USB interface or Bluetooth dongle are sold separately and are required for remote monitoring.
