Description
xVictron Inverter 24/250 230V VE.Direct IEC
The Victron Inverter 24/250 is a compact DC to AC inverter designed for 24V battery systems, delivering 250VA of continuous 230V AC output. It is suited to off-grid installations, vehicles, boats and backup power applications where a reliable, lightweight inverter is needed for smaller AC loads. The VE.Direct port allows direct communication with compatible Victron monitoring devices and displays.
Key Features
- 24V DC input with 230V AC output at 250VA continuous power rating.
- VE.Direct communication port for connection to Victron monitoring equipment such as the Color Control GX, CCGX or compatible displays.
- IEC AC output socket for straightforward connection to standard European and UK appliances.
- Pure sine wave output suitable for sensitive electronics and motor-driven loads.
- Compact and lightweight design at 2.6 kg, practical for space-constrained installations.
- Built-in protections including low battery voltage shutdown, over-temperature and overload protection.
Product Overview
The 24/250 sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. At 250VA, it is intended for powering smaller AC loads from a 24V battery bank: lighting circuits, small appliances, phone and laptop chargers, or instrumentation. The pure sine wave output means it is compatible with a wider range of equipment than a modified sine wave unit, including devices with switch-mode power supplies and inductive loads.
The VE.Direct interface distinguishes this unit from basic inverters. It allows the inverter to be monitored and configured via Victron's GX devices or a VE.Direct to USB cable connected to a laptop running VictronConnect. This is useful on installations where system visibility matters, such as a monitored off-grid cabin or a vessel with a Victron system already in place. The IEC output connector is a standard C13-type socket, compatible with a wide range of European and UK appliance leads.
At 2.6 kg, the unit is light enough to be mounted in a locker or under a seat. It is not intended for high-load applications. Installers should size the inverter to the actual continuous load, allowing headroom for startup surges from any motor-driven equipment.

What Is Included
- Victron Inverter 24/250 230V VE.Direct IEC unit
Installation Notes
This inverter must be connected to a 24V DC battery system. DC cable sizing and fusing should be calculated according to the continuous current draw at full load. The unit should be installed in a well-ventilated location away from flammable materials. VE.Direct accessories such as a VE.Direct cable or Bluetooth Smart dongle are sold separately. This inverter is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. Installation should be carried out by a competent electrician or qualified installer familiar with DC power systems and relevant wiring regulations.
