Description
xVictron Energy GlobalLink 530
The Victron GlobalLink 530 is a cellular monitoring device that connects compatible Victron equipment to the VRM Online Portal over a 2G/3G/4G mobile network, without requiring a local internet connection or router. It is aimed at installers and system owners who need remote visibility of off-grid, marine or mobile installations where fixed broadband is not available.
Key Features
- Connects directly to the VRM Online Portal via built-in cellular modem, with no router or local network required.
- Compatible with a wide range of Victron products including BMV battery monitors, SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers and Phoenix inverters via VE.Direct.
- Supports up to two VE.Direct connected devices simultaneously.
- Built-in global SIM card with data included, removing the need to source or manage a separate SIM.
- Compact and lightweight at 0.21 kg, suitable for installation in tight enclosures or mobile applications.
- Provides real-time and historical data logging through the VRM portal, accessible from any browser or the VRM app.
Product Overview
The GlobalLink 530 is designed for installations where a GX device or local network connection is not practical. It plugs directly into VE.Direct ports on supported Victron devices and transmits data over cellular to the VRM Online Portal. This makes it a straightforward option for monitoring battery banks, solar charge controllers or inverters in caravans, boats, remote cabins and other off-grid locations.
The included global SIM is pre-configured and managed by Victron, so there is no contract to set up or APN to configure. Data is transmitted at regular intervals and stored on the VRM portal, giving installers and end users access to system performance history, state of charge trends and fault events without needing to be on site.
Because the GlobalLink 530 connects at the VE.Direct level rather than through a GX device, it is a lower-cost monitoring option for smaller or simpler systems. It does not support the full range of GX device functionality such as DVCC, generator control or ESS, but for read-only remote monitoring it covers the most common use cases.

Installation Notes
The GlobalLink 530 connects via VE.Direct cable to supported Victron devices. Ensure the connected equipment is compatible before purchase, as not all Victron products support VE.Direct data output. The unit requires a power supply within the specified input voltage range. While the device itself does not involve high-voltage wiring, it is typically installed as part of a wider solar or battery system, and connection of that system should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. For grid-connected systems in the UK, ensure the installation meets G98 or G99 requirements as applicable.
