Description
xVictron EasySolar-II 48/4500/55-32 MPPT 250/70 GX Inverter Charger
The Victron EasySolar-II 48/4500/55-32 MPPT 250/70 GX is an all-in-one solar inverter charger designed for off-grid and self-consumption installations. It combines a 4500VA inverter, a 55A battery charger, a 70A MPPT solar charge controller, and the GX monitoring platform into a single wall-mounted unit. This makes it well suited to residential home storage, off-grid cabins, and commercial backup systems where panel space and installation time are at a premium.
Key Features
- 4500VA / 4000W pure sine wave inverter output at 230V AC, suitable for demanding loads including motor-start applications.
- Integrated 70A MPPT solar charge controller rated to 250V open-circuit PV input, allowing connection of higher-voltage string configurations.
- 55A multi-stage battery charger with adaptive charge algorithm, compatible with 48V lead-acid and lithium battery banks.
- Built-in GX device provides onboard monitoring, VRM portal connectivity, and DVCC (Distributed Voltage and Current Control) support for managed battery systems.
- 32A AC input with PowerControl and PowerAssist, preventing grid overload by supplementing mains power with battery power during peak demand.
- Single enclosure design reduces wiring complexity and installation time compared to separate component installations.
- Compatible with Victron VE.Bus, VE.Direct and VE.Can peripherals for system expansion and remote monitoring.
Product Overview
The EasySolar-II integrates components that would otherwise require separate mounting, wiring and commissioning. The MPPT 250/70 charge controller accepts PV arrays with an open-circuit voltage up to 250V and delivers up to 70A of charge current to the battery bank. At 48V nominal, this translates to up to 3500W of solar harvest. The 4500VA inverter handles continuous AC loads and provides a clean sine wave output, making it compatible with sensitive electronics and inductive loads alike.
The GX module is the same platform found in Victron's standalone Cerbo GX. It provides local touchscreen display support (via an optional GX Touch panel), internet connectivity via Ethernet or WiFi, and full integration with the Victron VRM online portal for remote monitoring and firmware updates. DVCC support means the unit can communicate directly with compatible managed lithium battery systems, including Pylontech and BYD batteries, to coordinate charge and discharge parameters safely.
PowerAssist is particularly useful in shore power or grid-limited scenarios. When the AC input is constrained to 32A, the unit can draw additional current from the battery bank to support loads that would otherwise exceed the input limit. This avoids nuisance tripping of supply breakers without requiring a larger grid connection.

Installation Notes
The EasySolar-II operates at 48V DC and connects to high-capacity battery banks. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. For grid-connected applications in the UK, compliance with G98 or G99 (depending on export capacity and DNO requirements) must be confirmed before commissioning. The unit is not suitable for DIY installation. Ensure the PV array VOC does not exceed 250V under any temperature condition. Battery chemistry settings must be configured correctly during commissioning to avoid overcharge or damage to the battery bank.
