Description
xCyrix-Li-charge 24/48V-230A Intelligent Charge Relay
The Victron Cyrix-Li-charge 24/48V-230A is a microprocessor-controlled battery isolator and charge relay designed for lithium battery systems operating at 24V or 48V. It automatically combines a starter or auxiliary battery with a lithium house bank during charging, then disconnects when charging stops. Suitable for marine, vehicle and off-grid installations where lithium battery protection is a priority.
Key Features
- Rated at 230A continuous current, suitable for high-demand 24V and 48V lithium battery systems.
- Microprocessor-controlled logic monitors battery management system (BMS) signals to allow or block charging.
- Automatically connects batteries when charge voltage is detected and disconnects when charging ceases.
- Designed specifically for lithium (LiFePO4) battery chemistries, responding correctly to BMS allow-to-charge signals.
- Compact and lightweight at 0.3 kg, suitable for installation in confined spaces.
- Compatible with Victron BMS products that output a load or charge disconnect signal.
Product Overview
The Cyrix-Li-charge relay differs from a standard battery combiner in one important respect: it is designed to work with a lithium BMS. When the BMS signals that charging is permitted, the relay closes and connects the charge source to the lithium bank. When the BMS issues a charge disconnect signal (for example, due to high cell voltage or temperature), the Cyrix-Li-charge opens immediately, protecting the battery from overcharge.
At 230A, this unit handles substantial charge currents from alternators, DC-DC chargers or shore power converters in 24V and 48V systems. The microprocessor logic prevents the relay from chattering or cycling unnecessarily, which extends both relay and battery life. This makes it a practical choice for professional installations in narrowboats, commercial vehicles, off-grid cabins and similar applications where a lithium house bank is charged from a secondary source.

Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced marine/vehicle electrical engineer. The Cyrix-Li-charge must be wired in conjunction with a compatible lithium BMS that provides a charge disconnect output signal. Incorrect wiring without a BMS control signal will prevent the unit from functioning as intended and may not protect the lithium battery from overcharge. Ensure all cabling is rated for the 230A continuous load and that appropriate fusing is fitted on both battery connections.
