Description
xVictron Energy Cerbo GX MK3
The Cerbo GX MK3 is Victron Energy's central communication and monitoring hub for solar, battery and inverter systems. It connects compatible Victron devices across a single installation, providing real-time data logging, remote monitoring via the VRM portal, and local control through a touchscreen display (sold separately). It is suited to off-grid, hybrid and marine installations where centralised system visibility is required.
Key Features
- Acts as the communication centre for Victron GX-compatible systems, aggregating data from inverters, chargers, batteries, solar charge controllers and more.
- Connects to the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal via Ethernet or Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and configuration from any browser or the VRM app.
- Supports HDMI output and USB touchscreen input for use with the optional GX Touch 50 or GX Touch 70 display panels.
- Includes two VE.Direct ports, one VE.Bus port, one VE.Can port, and a USB hub for broad device compatibility across the Victron product range.
- Supports DVCC (Distributed Voltage and Current Control) for coordinated charging across multi-device systems.
- Built-in Bluetooth for initial configuration and local monitoring via the VictronConnect app.
- MK3 variant includes an integrated MK3-USB interface, removing the need for a separate MK3-USB adapter when connecting to VE.Bus devices.
- Supports generator auto-start, two-way AC input switching, and relay outputs for system automation.
Product Overview
The Cerbo GX MK3 replaces the original Cerbo GX and integrates the MK3-USB interface directly into the unit. This means installers no longer need a separate MK3-USB dongle to communicate with VE.Bus devices such as MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers. The integration simplifies wiring and reduces the number of components required in the control cabinet.
All system data is logged locally on the Cerbo GX MK3 and synchronised to the VRM portal when an internet connection is available. The VRM portal provides historical graphs, alarm notifications, and remote firmware update capability. In installations without internet access, data is still logged locally and can be reviewed once connectivity is restored. The unit supports MQTT and Modbus TCP for integration with third-party building management or energy management systems.
The Cerbo GX MK3 does not include a built-in display. A GX Touch 50 or GX Touch 70 touchscreen panel connects via HDMI and USB and mounts separately. This keeps the core unit compact and allows display placement to be chosen independently of where the Cerbo GX MK3 is installed.

What Is Included
- 1 x Victron Cerbo GX MK3 unit
Installation Notes
The Cerbo GX MK3 should be installed by a qualified electrician or experienced Victron installer familiar with VE.Bus, VE.Direct and VE.Can wiring. Correct network configuration is required to enable VRM portal connectivity. For systems connected to the grid, ensure the inverter/charger installation complies with G98 or G99 requirements as applicable. The unit itself operates at low voltage and does not require specialist high-voltage handling, but it is typically installed alongside high-voltage DC and AC equipment that does.
