Description
xBusbar 250A 4-Pole with Cover — VBB125040010
The Victron Energy Busbar 250A 4P is a four-pole copper busbar rated at 250A, designed for use in DC distribution systems, battery banks, and off-grid or marine electrical installations. It provides a central, secure connection point for multiple circuits and comes supplied with a protective cover to guard against accidental contact.
Key Features
- 250A continuous current rating, suitable for high-current DC distribution applications.
- Four-pole configuration allows up to four separate circuit connections from a single busbar.
- Protective cover included, reducing the risk of accidental short circuits or contact with live terminals.
- Compact and robust construction suitable for panel mounting in battery enclosures, distribution boards and switchgear cabinets.
- Compatible with Victron Energy system components including battery main switches, fuse holders and inverter/charger installations.
- Weight of 0.395 kg, making it straightforward to handle and mount during installation.
Product Overview
A busbar is a fundamental component in any DC distribution system. Rather than running individual cables directly between each device and the battery, a busbar provides a single, rated connection point from which multiple circuits can be distributed. This simplifies wiring, reduces the number of direct battery connections, and makes fault-finding and maintenance considerably more straightforward.
The 250A rating on this busbar means it can handle the combined load of all connected circuits up to that threshold. The four-pole design is well suited to systems where several loads or sub-circuits need to be fed from a common positive or negative rail. The included cover is a practical safety feature, particularly important in enclosed battery compartments or installations where the busbar may be accessible to non-technical personnel.
This busbar is a standard Victron Energy component and integrates naturally into Victron system builds alongside battery main switches, fuse holders, and inverter or charger wiring. It is equally applicable in non-Victron installations where a reliable, rated DC distribution point is required.

Installation Notes
This busbar should be installed by a qualified electrician familiar with DC systems. Ensure all connected cables are correctly rated for their individual circuit loads and that the combined load does not exceed the 250A busbar rating. Torque all terminal connections to the manufacturer's specification to prevent resistance heating at joints. In battery systems, always disconnect the battery before making or altering busbar connections. For installations forming part of a grid-connected system, work must comply with relevant UK wiring regulations and be carried out by a suitably qualified installer.
