Description
xVictron BlueSolar MPPT 100/30 Charge Controller
The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/30 is a solar charge controller designed for 12V and 24V battery systems with a maximum solar input of 100V and a 30A charge current. It suits off-grid installations, marine applications, and mobile systems where reliable, efficient battery charging is required without the need for Bluetooth connectivity.
Key Features
- Maximum PV open circuit voltage of 100V, compatible with a range of series-connected panel configurations.
- 30A maximum charge current supports 12V and 24V battery banks.
- MPPT algorithm tracks the maximum power point to extract the most available energy from the solar array.
- Automatic battery voltage detection (12V or 24V) on first connection.
- Compatible with lithium-ion (LiFePO4), AGM, gel, and flooded lead-acid battery chemistries.
- Built-in load output with low voltage disconnect protects the battery from over-discharge.
- Compact, wall-mountable enclosure weighing 1.38kg.
Product Overview
The BlueSolar MPPT 100/30 uses a multi-stage MPPT charging process to convert solar energy into usable charge current more efficiently than PWM controllers. In practical terms, this means more energy delivered to the battery on partially cloudy days or when the panel voltage is significantly higher than the battery voltage. The 100V input ceiling gives flexibility when wiring two or more panels in series, which can reduce cable losses on longer runs.
The unit automatically detects whether the connected battery is 12V or 24V and applies the appropriate charge profile. Charge parameters for different battery chemistries can be adjusted via the VE.Direct port using a VE.Direct to USB cable and the VictronConnect app on a PC or Android device. This makes it straightforward to fine-tune absorption voltage, float voltage, and equalisation settings without needing a separate display unit.
The built-in load output provides a switched output for DC loads such as lighting or small appliances. The low voltage disconnect function monitors battery state and disconnects the load before the battery reaches a damaging depth of discharge, then reconnects once the battery has recovered.

Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced solar installer. Ensure the PV array open circuit voltage does not exceed 100V under any conditions, including cold temperatures, which raise panel Voc. Connect the battery before connecting the solar array. The VE.Direct port requires a separately purchased VE.Direct cable for configuration and monitoring. This unit is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 compliance, but all DC wiring should comply with BS 7671 and any applicable marine or vehicle wiring standards.
