Description
xVictron Energy 12V 130Ah AGM Deep Cycle Battery
The Victron Energy 12V 130Ah AGM Deep Cycle Battery is a sealed, maintenance-free lead-acid battery designed for repeated deep discharge and recharge cycling. It is suited to solar energy storage, off-grid systems, marine applications and backup power installations where reliable capacity and long cycle life are required.
Key Features
- 130Ah capacity rated at C20, providing a reliable benchmark for solar and off-grid sizing calculations.
- AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) construction eliminates free electrolyte, making the battery spill-proof and safe for installation in enclosed spaces.
- Deep cycle design allows repeated discharge to a significant depth without the accelerated degradation seen in standard standby batteries.
- Sealed, maintenance-free construction requires no topping up of electrolyte throughout its service life.
- 12V nominal voltage is compatible with a wide range of Victron charge controllers, inverter/chargers and battery monitors.
- 36kg weight reflects the substantial plate mass used in deep cycle construction, which directly contributes to cycle life.
- SKU BAT412121084, GTIN 8719076037002, manufactured by Victron Energy.
Product Overview
AGM deep cycle batteries differ from standard AGM standby batteries in the thickness and composition of their plates. Thicker plates store more active material, which allows the battery to sustain deeper discharges over a greater number of cycles before capacity degrades to an unacceptable level. This makes them appropriate for daily cycling in solar storage applications, where a battery may be discharged and recharged every day over several years.
The C20 capacity rating of 130Ah means the battery can deliver its full rated capacity when discharged over a 20-hour period. In practice, discharge rates in solar and off-grid systems often fall within this range, making the C20 figure a useful planning reference. Faster discharge rates will yield lower usable capacity, which should be accounted for in system design. Victron's AGM range is manufactured to consistent tolerances, which is relevant when batteries are connected in series or parallel banks.
Being sealed and valve-regulated, this battery does not emit hydrogen gas under normal operating conditions, which broadens the range of installation environments compared to flooded lead-acid alternatives. It is compatible with Victron's recommended AGM charge profiles, available across the full range of Victron MPPT charge controllers and MultiPlus or Quattro inverter/chargers.

Installation Notes
This battery weighs 36kg. Safe handling requires at least two people or appropriate lifting equipment. Connections should be made by a qualified electrician or experienced installer familiar with lead-acid battery systems. When installing in a battery bank, ensure all batteries are of the same type, age and state of charge before connecting in series or parallel. Use correctly rated fusing and cabling in accordance with BS 7671 and any applicable system requirements. For solar PV installations, a qualified or MCS-accredited installer should be engaged. Although this is a sealed AGM battery, adequate ventilation is still recommended as a precaution in enclosed battery compartments.
