Description
xVE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A Cable 1.8 m
The VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A Cable connects Victron VE.Can devices to compatible CAN-bus BMS units using the Type A pinout. At 1.8 metres, it provides enough reach for most battery cabinet and inverter installations without excess cable to manage. It is intended for professional installers integrating third-party BMS-equipped battery systems with Victron equipment.
Key Features
- Connects Victron VE.Can port to CAN-bus BMS units with Type A pinout configuration.
- Cable length of 1.8 m suits most standard battery and inverter enclosure layouts.
- Lightweight at 0.08 kg, with no additional hardware required for the connection.
- SKU ASS030710118, GTIN 8719076071600, supplied by Victron Energy.
- Compatible with Victron devices that feature a VE.Can interface, including MultiPlus, Quattro and Cerbo GX where CAN-bus BMS communication is required.
Product Overview
VE.Can is Victron's implementation of the CAN-bus protocol, used to link inverter/chargers, MPPT charge controllers, the Cerbo GX and other devices within a Victron system. When integrating a third-party lithium battery with a CAN-bus BMS, the BMS must communicate state of charge, cell voltage limits and charge/discharge parameters to the Victron system. This cable carries that communication link.
The Type A designation refers to the specific pinout used on the BMS connector end. Not all CAN-bus BMS units share the same pinout, so confirming the BMS type before ordering is essential. Type A is used by a number of common lithium battery manufacturers, but always verify against the BMS documentation before purchase.

Installation Notes
This cable should be installed by a qualified electrician or experienced system integrator familiar with Victron VE.Can network configuration. Confirm the BMS pinout type (Type A) against your battery manufacturer's documentation before connecting. Incorrect pinout connections may result in communication failure or equipment damage. CAN-bus termination resistors may be required at each end of the VE.Can network depending on system topology; refer to your Victron system design for termination requirements.
