Description
xSolis 5kW Single Phase Grid-Tied Solar Inverter S6-GR1P5K-DC
The Solis S6-GR1P5K-DC is a compact, lightweight 5kW single phase grid-tied solar inverter designed for residential PV systems. With dual MPPT, IP66 weatherproofing, and built-in AFCI arc-fault protection, it is a reliable and well-specified choice for UK and European rooftop solar installations.
Key Features
- 5kW rated output, 97.7% peak efficiency
- Dual MPPT with up to 16A input current per string
- Compatible with high-efficiency and bifacial modules up to 660W
- IP66 ingress protection for outdoor installation
- Integrated AFCI arc-fault circuit protection (activation required)
- Zero export power control function
- LCD display with RS485 communication
- Optional Wi-Fi and GPRS monitoring
- G98/G99 compliant for UK grid connection
- Natural convection cooling, no moving parts
Product Overview
The S6-GR1P5K-DC operates across an MPPT voltage range of 90 to 550V, with a maximum input voltage of 600V and a start-up voltage of 120V. Each of the two MPPT trackers accepts up to 16A, making it compatible with the latest generation of high-output solar panels.
With a power factor exceeding 0.99 and THDi below 3%, this inverter delivers clean, stable AC output to the grid. Its transformerless topology keeps weight to just 8.9kg, simplifying wall mounting and reducing installation time.
The integrated AFCI function proactively monitors for DC arc faults, reducing the risk of fire in the PV array. Zero export control allows the inverter to be configured to prevent energy being exported to the grid, useful for properties with export restrictions or import-only tariffs.
Applications
- Residential rooftop grid-tied solar PV systems
- Small commercial rooftop installations
- New build and retrofit solar projects in the UK and Europe
- Systems using high-efficiency or bifacial modules
Installation and Safety Notes
This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited solar installer. DC wiring, AC connection, grid protection settings, and commissioning must comply with G98 or G99 requirements as applicable, along with all relevant IET Wiring Regulations and DNO notification procedures. Do not attempt DIY installation of grid-connected equipment.
