Description
xSolar PV Rapid Shutdown Combiner Box – 6 String, 1500V DC, 50A (BHT-5/5 Series)
DC Isolation for Rooftop Fire Safety
The BHT-5/5 Series PV Combiner Box with rapid shutdown is a DC isolation solution for solar rooftop fire safety. It allows manual disconnection of DC power in a fault or fire event, creating a safe working area for firefighters and reducing the risk of DC electric shock on the roof.
When AC power is shut off at the property, the safety switch simultaneously disconnects all DC strings, ensuring full system shutdown. Connectivity: 6 solar PV string inputs to 6 solar PV string outputs, 50A per string, paralleling permitted up to this current level at 1500V DC.
Key Features
- String-level rapid shutdown for each of 6 PV strings
- Rated to 1500V DC, 50A per string
- Simultaneous DC disconnection when AC supply is removed
- Automatic shutdown on over-temperature inside the BFS-S enclosure
- Plug and play installation, no interference with inverter or Wi-Fi
- Compatible with most string inverters and solar panels
Applications
- Residential and commercial rooftop solar PV systems
- Installations requiring compliance with fire safety rapid shutdown requirements
- Systems where firefighter DC isolation access is required
Installation Notes
Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s wiring guide and current electrical regulations. Rapid shutdown devices must be positioned to allow safe firefighter access and operation. All DC connections must be made by a qualified solar installer.
