Product Overview
Solar Assistant runs on an Orange Pi 3 LTS or Raspberry Pi 4 controller. The software is pre-loaded on the SD card and ready to use once connected to the inverter via the RS232 or RS485 communication port. No technical configuration is required for standard inverter connections.
A single Solar Assistant installation can monitor multiple inverters and batteries simultaneously, with data stored locally on the SD card for up to 10 years. The platform supports MQTT for integration with home automation systems including Home Assistant.
Compatible Inverter Brands
Voltacon, Axpert, MPP Solar, Kodak, Growatt, Deye, Sunsynk, Solis, SolaX, Sungrow, FOXESS, Phocos and many others. See the Solar Assistant website for the full compatibility list.
Applications
- Monitoring and control of off-grid solar systems
- Performance monitoring for hybrid solar and battery storage systems
- Professional installer commissioning and remote support tool
Installation Notes
Requires an Orange Pi 3 LTS or Raspberry Pi 4 with Solar Assistant pre-loaded (available as a complete kit separately). Connect to the inverter RS232 or RS485 port using the appropriate communication cable. A stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is required for remote access.
