Product Overview
The Sunny Tripower X 15kW is part of a product family spanning 12kW to 25kW, sharing a common platform and installation footprint. The three MPP trackers allow independent string management across different roof orientations or shading conditions, maximising energy yield in complex PV layouts.
The integrated system manager removes the need for a separate monitoring device in smaller commercial systems, handling dynamic power control and feed-in management for up to five inverters totalling up to 135kVA. Direct connection to Sunny Portal via ennexOS provides remote monitoring and data analysis without additional hardware.
SMA ShadeFix uses an advanced optimisation algorithm to maximise energy yield during partial shading events at inverter level, without requiring module-level optimisers. SMA ArcFix provides active detection of DC arc faults to reduce fire risk in the PV array.
Applications
- Commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems
- Large residential solar installations
- Multi-inverter systems with centralised monitoring
- Sites with partial shading or multiple roof orientations
Installation and Safety Notes
This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrical engineer or MCS-accredited solar installer. G99 notification and DNO approval are required for connection to the UK distribution network at this power level. DC wiring, string fusing, AC protection, and earthing must comply with IET Wiring Regulations and SMA's installation manual. Commissioning via SMA tools is required before operation.
