Description
xEastron SDM120CTM 100mA Modbus Single Phase DIN Rail Energy Meter
The Eastron SDM120CTM is a single phase multifunction DIN rail energy meter supplied complete with a 100mA CT current transformer. It measures a wide range of electrical parameters and communicates via RS485 Modbus RTU, making it compatible with most major solar inverter brands for export control and self-consumption monitoring.
Key Features
- Single phase DIN rail meter with 100mA CT included
- Measures kWh, kVArh, kW, kVAr, kVA, PF, Hz, V, A and more
- Bi-directional measurement: import and export
- RS485 Modbus RTU communication
- Two configurable pulse outputs
- White backlit LCD display
- Better than Class 1 accuracy
- Compact DIN 43880 format, 35mm rail mounting
- IP51 ingress protection (indoor use)
Product Overview
This meter is designed for use in residential, utility, and industrial single phase applications. Its bi-directional energy measurement capability makes it well suited to solar PV monitoring, allowing the inverter or energy management system to track both consumption from the grid and any surplus export.
The RS485 port supports Modbus RTU at baud rates of 1200 to 9600 bps, with configurable parity, stop bits, and Modbus address (1 to 247). Pulse output 1 is user-configurable for total, import, or export kWh or kVArh. Pulse output 2 is fixed at total kWh at 1000 imp/kWh.
Inverter Compatibility
The SDM120CTM 100mA is used as the export/import meter for a wide range of solar inverter brands including Solis, Growatt, Deye, SolaX, Sungrow, FOXESS, Hypontech, Kstar, and others. Always confirm the correct CT output rating (100mA) and Modbus version required by your inverter before ordering.
Applications
- Solar PV export and self-consumption monitoring
- Zero export control with compatible hybrid inverters
- Residential and small commercial energy metering
- DIN rail panel installations
Installation and Safety Notes
This meter operates at mains voltage and must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with IET Wiring Regulations. Ensure the CT rating and Modbus version match the requirements of your inverter. The unit is rated for indoor use only (IP51).
