Description
xVictron Orion-Tr Isolated DC-DC Charger Remote Cable
The Victron Orion-Tr Isolated DC-DC Charger remote cable is a dedicated accessory for the Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger range. It enables remote on/off control of the charger, allowing the unit to be switched without direct access to the charger itself. Suited to professional vehicle, marine and off-grid installations where the charger is mounted in an enclosure or out of reach.
Key Features
- Designed specifically for use with the Orion-Tr Isolated DC-DC charger series from Victron Energy.
- Enables remote on/off switching of the charger from a convenient location.
- Lightweight at 15 g, adding negligible weight to any installation.
- Genuine Victron Energy accessory, ensuring correct connector fit and reliable contact.
- SKU ASS070300100, GTIN 8719076052777, for straightforward procurement and stock management.
Product Overview
The Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger includes a remote port that accepts a two-wire on/off signal. This cable provides the correct connector and wiring to interface with that port, allowing the charger to be controlled by an ignition signal, a battery management system, a switch panel, or any other suitable switching source. Without this cable, remote control of the charger requires improvised wiring that may not seat correctly in the port.
Using the correct Victron remote cable maintains the integrity of the connection and avoids potential issues with intermittent contact or incorrect pinout. In vehicle and marine installations, where vibration and moisture are factors, a properly fitted connector is preferable to an ad hoc solution. The cable is a direct fit for the Orion-Tr Isolated range and requires no modification.

Installation Notes
Connect the remote cable to the designated remote port on the Orion-Tr Isolated DC-DC charger. Ensure the switching source voltage is compatible with the charger's remote input specification before wiring. For installations in vehicles or vessels, route the cable away from heat sources and secure it to prevent chafing. Where the Orion-Tr forms part of a larger DC system, installation by a qualified auto-electrician or marine electrician is recommended.
