Description
xVoltacon 6200W Off Grid Inverter, 48V Pure Sine Wave with 120A MPPT Solar Charger and Dual Output
A 6200W off grid inverter built for people who need mains quality power where there is no grid, or where the grid cannot be trusted. New generation power electronics deliver the full 6200W continuous at 40°C ambient without derating, so the unit holds its rating in a hot plant room or a summer loft rather than backing off when you need it most. A 120A MPPT solar charger, dual programmable AC outputs, zero transfer time and built in Wi-Fi monitoring make this a complete off grid power centre rather than just an inverter.
Compatible with major Lithium Ion Batteries: Pylontech, WECO, Soltaro, Pytes, Fogstar, BYD

What does an off grid inverter do?
An off grid inverter converts the 48V DC stored in your battery bank into 230V AC pure sinewave mains power for normal appliances, and charges that battery bank from solar panels, the grid or a generator. Unlike a grid tied inverter, it creates its own AC supply, so it keeps working when there is no mains connection at all. That makes it the heart of any system where power has to be generated and stored on site: rural properties, cabins, agricultural buildings, workshops, remote monitoring sites and backup installations.
Product overview
This is a three in one unit combining a pure sine wave inverter, an MPPT solar charge controller and a mains or generator battery charger in a single wall mounted enclosure weighing 12kg. Total charging current is configurable up to 120A from solar, mains or both together, so a large battery bank can be recovered quickly after a heavy discharge or a poor solar week.
The dual output design is what sets the TWIN apart. Output one runs your essential circuits continuously. Output two can be set to shed automatically at a chosen battery voltage or state of charge, or to run only during defined hours, which protects your reserve capacity for the loads that genuinely matter. Non essential loads such as immersion heaters, workshop sockets or outbuildings can be placed on output two and dropped without any manual intervention.
Output source priority is fully configurable from the LCD. Choose utility first, solar first, or solar and battery first with the grid as a last resort, so the system matches how you actually want to use your stored energy. Where mains is available, the inverter transfers to battery in 0ms, which means connected equipment never sees the interruption.
Ready for Expansion to 55kW in 3-Phase andn 1-Phase
For larger installations, up to nine units can be paralleled on a shared battery bank for 55.8kW in single phase, or split across three phases to run three phase machinery from an off grid supply.
Applications
- Off grid homes, cabins, lodges and holiday properties
- Agricultural buildings, barns, stables and remote farm units
- Workshops, garages and light industrial units with no grid connection
- Backup power for properties on weak or unreliable rural supplies
- Telecoms, CCTV, monitoring and communications sites
- Generator hybrid systems where run hours and fuel use need to be cut
- Larger commercial off grid systems using multiple units in parallel

- Voltacon 6200W off grid inverter with built in Wi-Fi module
- Detachable LCD control panel, factory fitted
- Communication cable
- User manual
Battery cables, PV cables, breakers, isolators and battery banks are not included and should be specified for your installation.
Installation and safety notes
This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrician or solar installer, and the completed installation must comply with BS 7671 and any other applicable local regulations. Battery, PV and AC connections carry lethal voltages and energy levels.
- Fit a separate DC over current protective device between the battery bank and the inverter. A 160A / 80V DC breaker is recommended for a single unit
- Fit a separate AC breaker between the inverter and the AC supply. A 50A device is recommended for a single unit
- Fit a separate DC breaker or isolator between the PV array and the inverter
- Use correctly sized cable: 1 x 1/0 AWG (60mm²) or 2 x 4 AWG for the battery, 10 AWG for PV, 8 AWG for AC. Torque battery ring terminals to 2 to 3 Nm
- The open circuit voltage of the PV array must never exceed 500V DC at the lowest expected site temperature
- Never connect the positive or negative terminals of the solar array to earth. The inverter must be connected to a permanently earthed wiring system
- Mount vertically on a solid, non combustible surface. Allow 20cm clearance to each side and 50cm above and below for airflow
- When using lithium batteries, the correct BMS communication cable and battery profile must be used so that charge voltages and cut off limits are controlled by the battery management system
- Do not open the enclosure. There are no user serviceable parts inside
